Company Directors announce retirement
It is with some sadness that Carwood announce the resignation of two Directors from the Board, Ian Neill and Peter Boardman have both elected to retire after long service to the Company. Gary Carter (Chairman), paid tribute to both men commenting, “Peter and Ian’s contribution to the success of Carwood over many years cannot be overstated, we thank them for their service and commitment, we wish them a long and happy retirement.”
Peter joined the Company in 1990 in the role of financial Director and in more recent years as a Non-Executive Director. His previous experience had been in the automotive manufacturing industry and earlier in the accountancy profession. In the early years Peter considerably strengthened the Company’s financial reporting procedures and provided a solid base to support our year on year growth. He was also instrumental in implementing BS 5750 - our first quality assurance system and the forerunner to our present day ISO accreditations.
Ian joined Carwood in 2001 when we acquired the business of CLS Services and CLS Reman, which became part of today’s Carwood Diesel Systems. Shortly after the acquisitions it was necessary to relocate to a larger facility, which Ian was charged in finding, this resulted in Carwood moving to the current facility in Willow Court. After Ian’s appointments as a Director he became responsible for the successful growth of our diesel business which at that time included our Diesel workshop in Coventry. Ian also saw the future potential of a new route to market through the Motor Factors, which has been a major part of Carwood’s success.
