Equipment Life Support
Asset Regeneration is the term used by Carwood for taking damaged, worn out or obsolete equipment or components and subjecting them to a complete remanufacturing process. This process restores the item to a standard of performance and durability that matches or even exceeds that of original manufacture. Today with the improvements in modern environmentally friendly technology in stripping and cleaning, along with advanced inspection and testing technology, remanufactured products are produced to such a high standard that they are difficult to differentiate from new.
There is a growing recognition world wide of the importance of remanufacturing which retains and recycles raw materials and uses 85% less energy than new production. A number of international manufacturers of engines, major components, and sub-assemblies now offer a remanufacturing programme to complement their new products, some of these manufacturers are supplied by Carwood.
As part of our policy of listening to our Customer’s needs our remanufactured range has increased considerably over time. Today our remanufacturing portfolio includes:
- Air actuators
- Air conditioning units
- Armatures (rewind)
- Climate control systems
- Coils (rewind)

This range is purchased by both our commercial and defence customers. At a time of pressure to reduce expenditure these sectors recognise the cost-effective solution that remanufacturing offers, whilst maintaining O.E. standards and warranty benefits, at the same time reducing their carbon footprint. Asset regeneration clearly offers a “win-win” scenario of less cost to the customer and the environment.
A wide array of LRUs (Line Replacement Units) can be managed through the Carwood Asset Regeneration process, the capability includes generators, starters, rotary junction boxes (pictured left), control panels, switchgear, hydraulics and actuators. The assets are carefully controlled from receipt to return ensuring inventory control and configuration management with full traceability.
